We are working on improving Dynamo samples and learning resources, especially for beginner users. We would love your help in identifying opportunities.
Is there a sample that helps you learn Dynamo quickly or vividly demonstrates its value? Or if you teach others Dynamo, what sample do you use to introduce beginners? Or is there any workflow you frequently use and would like to have a sample for?
Please take a moment to complete this 1-question survey. Feel free to check out more information about this effort on our Roadmap here. Thank you!
If you encounter any issues with the survey or have additional feedback or ideas, please let us know!
[Update May 15] The survey has been closed. Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts!
No matter what programming language I learn, my first goal is always to add a revision to multiple sheets, with varying levels of UI/UX. It’s a relatable and cross disciplinary task, so I find it helps as a ‘here’s an example of what Dynamo can do’ sort of thing.
I also like it as Autodesk has added the ability to do this now manually, but it serves as a reminder to people I teach that programming gives us ‘new features’ as early as we can develop them ourselves if the API can do it.
The main challenge is that in Dynamo it generally needs some sort of UI to select the sheets and revision at bare minimum. There is almost as many custom nodes as their is regular ones in the script, but it does on the other hand demonstrate the value of having an open community of developers.
Will fill out the survey.
In the meantime, hope others enjoy all my attempts at this workflow over the years!
