Placing Spot Coordinates

Hi Everyone,

I have looked through all the examples I could find on the forum relating to placing Spot Coordinates, but haven’t found out how to do this.

For proof of concept I am just trying to place spot coordinates at all pipe fittings. Here are just three default pipes draw in the “Systems” template, which produce 2 default elbow fittings.

I thought this script would be really easy, but I cant seem to figure out this SpotCoordinate.ByPoint node from clockwork. I have Clockwork 2.4.0 installed, but have also tried with 2.6.0.

I have played with lacing, list levels, as well as chopping lists to change lengths and try match them all. Could anyone point me in another direction I could try, or offer insight into what I might be doing wrong here?

the desired result would be this.

Thanks a lot.

For the ‘bend’, try using a vector of 1,1,0 and see if that fixes things.

Hi Jacob,

Thanks for the response.
Still getting the same issue

¨Hello @Sigma try something here and see if it could work

Revit_Mh7fNT5ogL

Hi @sovitek - Thanks for the response.

I unfortunately still get all nulls.

try as here …clockwork should be 2.6

forumHome.dyn (22.9 KB)

Still getting nulls for the clockwork node.

I tried your script as well, also getting null.

and you have dynamoironpythonpackage 2.7 ver 2.5 installed…you are welcome to share a small rvt sample and we can try

I have dynamoironpython 2.7 ver 3.2.0 installed currently.
Sure, here is the file
Spot Coordinates.rvt (7.4 MB)
Spot coordinate 3.dyn (24.6 KB)

Thanks very much for helping with this

Are you In revit 2025

This is Revit 2024

Then Python 2.7 ver 2.5 not 3.0

Thanks, made this change and restarted everything, still getting nulls.

I Can take a look later im just on mobile In the moment

Thanks very much, I would appreciate that.

Funny thing I just found… It seems to work in the “Architectural” template, but not in the “Systems” template…

The tag does go the wrong way, but it worked here. I tried it earlier in this template as well and it did not work, so I have no idea what the issue is…

Good idea to post the file it isn’t working in. Might be due to how the view is set up.

Hi Jacob,

Yes thanks, I did share the file that isn’t working. It’s just the default Systems template in Revit, I am currently looking at view settings now to try find something, nothing yet.

Ah! Didn’t see it. Sorry!

Is your spotcoord tag on In vg

Yes it is. I’ve adjusted pipe heights, view ranges, disciplines, phasing… Cant find where the issue is
