Parts and Doors/Windows

Hi,

Is there any way to link a door and/or window with a part?
I don’t want to link with a wall.
And, i can’t link first with a wall and get the parts from the wall.

OR

If is there some node to identify if a part has any window/door, or if a part has a opening.

I can’t think about anything so specific, but a workaround:
Calculate the height and lenght of a wall, multiply it and then compare to the “Area” value of a part. If the “Area” value is smaller, then there has to be an opening.

Have you tried “FamilyInstance.GetHost”?

I believe that adding a window to a wall reduces the walls area. Element host would be what I would try.

The result is the same to ELEMENT.HOST… the host is Wall.
