Keeping Dynamo up to date (Revit '22)

I’m reading that the current version of dynamo is 2.6. I’m also reading that dynamo is automatically updated (which seems dangerous).

I can’t see how to get anything above dynamo 2.12 into Revit 2022. The Dynamo > About dialog says I am up-to-date. There must be something I’ve misunderstood. Can anyone help me here?

I’m the only one in the office who runs these graphs so since I’m updating an old one I might as well use the latest version and learn what’s changed.

@duncan.lithgow the dynamo versions are built in every version of Revit. For instance 2020 is version 2.06 and Revit 2022 is mostly version 2.12. If you want to download recent packages above 2.12 it will be possible with Revit 2023 because the Dynamo version is there in a higher version.
