i have faced this error so give me a solution.
To split a wall vertically you need to do the following:
- Find wall location line.
- Divide it into two curves.
- Copy original wall so that now you have two.
- Change each wall’s location curve for the two “halves” from step 2.
There is no API in Revit that will just split the wall in two halves. That API exists for Family Instances but not for walls.

I tried and it works great.
@lysonthien I think he sad “vertically” as in vertical direction which would mean that your suggestion is off topic. Levels are likely horizontal and thus would be splitting the wall horizontally. It’s a good read, but again off topic.
