Hi. For a building, I would like to calculate the gross area and volume of spaces. These are the areas and volumes of the space extended to the exterior walls, or heartline of the wall/roof if it lies next to another space.
As far as I know you can only get inner areas and volumes for spaces. By defining areas you can get the gross area but not the gross volume.
Just setting the height to a certain value does not work as it should be able to deal with slanted roofs and thus different heights
Thank you for having a look into this.
Just depends on how accurate you want to be. Using Spaces and Rooms you can work to combine gross room into a custom space parameter. The Area and Volume Computations allows you to define rooms by face or centerline. you can push that gross value into a parameter. However, the gross room area excludes the exterior wall from center out. So there would be additional work to do there. Working rooms, spaces and areas together can speed the calc.
The long way is to get all the bounding elements of the space and then add on based on all those bounding elements geometry.
