Getting perimeter of a building in general way and support all model type of building

hmm, ive tried your method but its slicing at columns and walls,

Can it offset minus to slicing at floors and beams?

No not sure, probably its better with Jacobs way here, not sure …have you tried that?..you are welcome to share your rvt and we can take a look…

Ya im still figuring out the jacobs way, whats the flow of the graph, and what package is used.

yeah guess Jacobs way its with OOTB and spring…but many things can go wrong depends on your model

This is Right?

This the results

This the Solids.

Yes!, its pretty same as the shape of the perimeter building!, but how do i get the fully jut one of the perimeter building?

What i wanted be looked like this

Can you color the slab for me in the image?

This one just takes floors element

but the problem is, not all my models can be used by the floors elemnt only. theres something like be separated by a beam and column

Was asking for a shade on the plan, but this suffices as I think I can orient myself.

You’re going to be chasing infinite edge cases with this issue for awhile yet. Though I am not certain what you are after, it might be that there is no one size fits all method.

Write down the rules for ‘when a beam is included in the surface area’ vs not. Come up with the ‘yeah but’ situations to each, sketch them out, and model that condition in Revit. At some level this feels like it is more of a design problem than a straight automation one, but I can’t say as the goal of why you’re finding these limits isn’t clear.

I dont understand you dont have any link arch model ? how have you modelled floor , framing columns without some walls ? or will you create struc wall as well in that model

So, im on a project for building construction stage. And the puspose is to finding and placing some “safety element” such as safety guard railings, safety screen at construction. so we know “How its look like” the safety element at construction stage. and from there we can find how long of the rails, the area of the nets… and calculate the cost of it…

So thats why im working at structural models. Yes i do have. but, i have limited access to architectural models… and back again… i need to work at structural models where the building is at construction stage.

arhhh i see  whats happend if you intersect beam, column, floor solid with a plane and then rep from there…think as in your first image in post #26…but i dont think you never find a solution there will work in all cases without some modify…but if you have the arch link i guees it would much better…then you could create a decent boundery

Yes, i already used that method, getting the “walk-able” solid, and intersect the solid itself,

but at some models, or some levels at the models ive tried. it comes error it says:

  1. inconsistent face-body, or inconsistent edge-face
  2. and it cant intersect when theres an floor at same level but have different offset…

Yes, sometimes I modify elements when I shouldn’t

hmmm… is there any way to connect between the architecture models to structural models…
like… i run the dynamo on architecture models, but its automatically placing element at structural models…

do you have the option to share one level in that model you work on the most difficult one you have  then i think it could be easier to help with something there probably could work

Here the one model

Hi @najwan.joan.sv here i have give it a quick try on level lantai 2 as you see you will need a lot of clean up…and you probably need another way on the other level…depends…still think if you have an arch link model with walls / boundary it could be done more smoother maybe

Hi @sovitek , Sorry for very very late responses, ive been busy lately. i wanna try your graph can i have it? or if you dont save the file, may i know the packages you use? especially Solid.byUnion fixer and Surface.GetBorderInnerCurves

I hoping this graph would works at many different STR model files and working universal at any model

Hi @najwan.joan.sv guess it was from synthezise toolkit

Dont think so without some modify
