i’m trying to achieve the ceilings and floors locations inside a section-view visible to me, the target to create a coordinated section for MEP elements (will be created using dynamo), the ceiling void in section-view must be empty, the MEP services will be created later on. it is a prep dynamo script for generative design study later on.
HI!. I’m not completely sure what you’re asking, but if you’re working with different sections, the height of the elements is determined by the “z” axis. Make sure to create or move the elements to the correct height in the “z” axis.
that is correct, the z-axis where things should move,
however, i managed to get the ceiling and floors as points, but still any point you create within this void, is still created on 2d plan, not visible at the section.
i’m not able able to change the point coordinate system to work on xz-plane.
If you’re doing this in generative design then you don’t need the area in the section of a particular view, of the volumetric 3D space of the plenum between the ceiling and floor, excluding all structural elements.
I recommend getting the top surface of all ceilings, pulling the perimeter curves, and projecting those onto the plane at the level above. Loft between the two sets of curve loops as a solid, and union them together.
Next get the solids from the floors and structural elements. Union all of those into one solid and then remove that from the ceiling extrusions.
From there you can intersect that with any view’s plane and view range box to get a sketch plane to place content on, which can then be connected to other items on other sketch planes, or just generate paths via VASA or other methods which will allow optimization of the systems instead of individual runs therein (which doesn’t allow enough flexibility without knowledge of the larger system to have any real impact).
