Hi
I am trying to learn about space planning in dynamo and how to benefits from generative design tool,
i could not find any tutorail or course that focus on building a script from scratch, it would be very helpful if someone can recommend any tutorial or courses in this matter
Assuming you know Dynamo well already, this is a good place to start (though I may be biased): Generative Design at Hogwarts: Using Tech Instead of Magic | Autodesk University

thanks, Jacob!!, always here to offer support, no actually I am still a beginner in dynamo and I am still learning the essentials but my purpose of learning dynamo in the first place is to use space planning generative design as tool and i want to focus on this particular issue that is why i start searching for this kind of tutorials
As mentioned early in that session, this isnāt an introductory topic. Itās an OWL course so youāll need your a few years at Hogwarts to get a good footing.
Feel free to watch it now, but know that you will struggle reaching your goal until you learn the basics. I recommend that you do the Dynamo Primer once all the way through - skip nothing was while you may not think you need the result, itās the methods learn which is important. Then go through the generative design primer, again skipping nothing. After those two are done you should have a decent foundation to tackle the end goal.

Thank you for all your advice, sure I am watching it now, and try to learn the basic as fast as i can hoping to start producing script this year ( i know I am an optimist :D)
As in the next 17 days? This is doable.
Remember that the way you space plan will be different than the way I space plan, or anyone else space plans for that matter, so āa graph you can just useā isnāt likely to provide results you like without some significant expectation setting or even scaling back what you are after. The inevitable ācan we add something to it so it will do _____ too?ā question will lead often lead to way more effort reverse engineering the existing otherwise.
Iāve seen people do the primer end to end in a weekend, same with the refinery primer. With the year end holidays you can likely push though both in a 3 or 4 straight days span depending on what else you have going on. Even if you half the pace youāre good to finish the āupskillingā before moving into the uncharted territory of self build out.
The key to your timeframe will be setting aside the time to focus and do the exercises, seeking help here on the forum if you get stuck on any specific one.

haha sorry my bad :D, I mean by the end of 2021 but yes you are right! my strategy now is to keep on learning dynamo fundamentals and also try to reverse engineer some codes that I can find online about space planning like the one of Subhajit Das until I can produce one from scratch.
once again thank you for your help really appreciated

I ended up assisting Walid for a while via my consulting business - whilst the problem was solved to some degree it required simplification of the approach being explored first. Speed of execution was an issue with the GD tool so we also explored Rhino/Galapagos which yielded some interesting results also.
Not sure the problem was completely addressed, and we didnāt use space planning logic in the end.
Thanks for the response Gavin. Thanks for all the work you are doing!
