Dynamo surface vs. Revit Surface - node: RevitFaceReference.FromDynamoSurface

Hi all,

can somebody explain to me why there’s any difference between a surface created in dynamo and a surface selected from Revit. Its both a surface, right?

I’m using a node from clockwork ‘RevitFaceReference.FromDynamoSurface’. My surfaces created in dynamo gives me ‘null’ and faces selected from Revit a reference as expected.

RevitFaceReference.FromDynamoSurface will only return a RevitFaceReference if there is a Revit face underlying the Dynamo surface, not if the Dynamo surface has been created independently:
