Display Revit pipe as tube not cylinder

I’d tell them that autodesk doesn’t include this as adding that degree of display slows things down significantly - you shouldn’t really ever see inside most pipes, but each of those never seen faces has to be calculated as an individual thing. While some systems and projects might be able to handle this, most can’t. As such it is not recommended to include that level of detail in the BIM environment during the design phase of the project, but to incorporate it as you move to the fabrication phase. At that point Revit would move past the pipe tool and into fabrication parts, which I believe can incorporate the opening display.

you could export to navisworks and you will see all as surfaces

Thanks Jacob. You’re right, I’ve tried cutting a pipe system family with a void and it doesn’t allow it. I’ll have a chat with our MEP team and learn about fabrication parts. They do allow the pipe to be shown with the opening, but not sure how much control you can have over them within Dynamo and whether you can create parts from curves.

Thanks to you and Sovitek for all your help today. Have a nice weekend.
