Hello all,
I’m trying to create two sets of dimensions one vertical and one horizontal. I base these dimensions on refeerences from a family and a template sheet (I want to automate dimensions on the other sheets).
Now here is the strange thing the vertical dimensions work however the horizontal dimensions give three good values and three “null” values. See image below. How do I resolve this?
I also include a wider perspective of the input:
I hope someone knows how to resolve the nulls!
Yes seems you have some bad reference, but very hard to execkly say whats wrong, if you share one family you try dimension on and your graph…we can find out whats wrong
41_GM_WPB_stelkozijn_gen.rfa (432 KB)
This is the family i want to have dimensions on.
Element View Generation.dyn (397.4 KB)
This is the Dynamo file
This is what I want to create
I hope you can help me
ällright are you sure its the family you show in the image ? anyway here is very fast exemple…try keep it simple so it works on one thing and then scale it up when it works…i cant really follow your graph and what you do, but here is an exemple for a elevation i guess

Yeah but the family is within an assembly and i want to recreate the image from my previous reply for every assembly. I geuss that makes the story more complete .
So in the case of the dimensioning, i want the dimensions that are on the “template sheet” to als be placed on the other sheets, I created the same for the tags, the views etc. To create this automated dimensioning since it’s relative easy dimensioning i followed this tutorial from Aussie BIM Guru:
Regarding the example you send me, the example gave me an idea. If i can make a surface with the perimeter of the assembly i’m golden after implementing your solution. Can you maybe send your example to me?
Thanks or the effort @sovitek!!
I didnt save it, but took an image before i close just in case, try play around with it, sometimes i had issue with get the right reference with familys reference thats why i sometimes use surface reference…btw in some situation i use OOTB nodes for that as well…depends whta i will dimension…good luck
