how do you get a custom node from a dyn file .I am loading a dyn file and the custom node in it pops an error -not existing .
You have to download it and install via the Package Manager.
In dynamo, along the top go to ‘Packages’ -> ‘Search for a Package’
Type in the name of the package you want and install it. It should then be usable.

If you have got dynn file from someone then ask them to send DFY file as well if it is not uploaded on Package Manager.
Otherwise you can always search for a Custom Node which is missing in your dyn file using Packages>Search for Package as mentioned by Sol Amour.
