I am trying to automate viewport creation using Dynamo. I see a good amount of information about using the Rhythm package for Revit to do at least something similar to what I want, but I don’t see those nodes available to me in Civil 3D. Does anyone else have any advice on another package, ability to create a custom node, or something the like? Ultimately, I want to take polylines and then use those to generate viewports in separate layout tabs. Thank you in advance!
Hi @jbrunkhorst,
If you’re able to use Civil 3D 2025.1 or newer, there’s actually a sample graph that does something very similar. Perhaps it can give you some inspiration

Awesome - thank you! My company has started trying to package the 2025 install on our computers here in Q1. Hopefully that happens soon and I can dig into this a bit deeper there. Do you have any resources that you would find helpful in creating a custom node for something like a viewport creation? or another Civil 3D command that isn’t there out-of-the-box in Dynamo?
I’m not 100% sure, but off the top of my head I seem to remember that the Civil 3D Toolkit package had a similar node? Not at my PC so I can’t check right now
