Hi! I have a question. How can I convert a family that has a host to a family without a host? I have tried to remove the host but when it comes to placing it in a new project I have to place it on a level and it won’t let me add an elevation from the level as it happens in families without a host (template: generic metric model)
Short answer is… you started the family in the wrong template.
This isn’t a dynamo query though. More to a Revit one.

Make 2 projects, a host and a link.
Place the desired family to unhost in thr link model.
Link it to the host model
Copymonitor the family from the linked model when you have the host model open (this will convert to face)
Edit the copyminotored family
Delete the facr plane and uncheck the workplane based family checkbox in the properties.
Saveas the family and link it into the project you originally wanted it in, your family is now level hosted.
But yeah, this is a revit query, not dynamo.
