Bug: Show/Hide Connectors

Today I was playing around with the connectors between the nodes. Anyway, it is possible to hide all connectors in a graph with the menu option View > Connectors > Show Connectors.

It is an environment setting, not a graph setting. And a great solution to have a clean environment, and the associated connectors are shown when a node is selected.

But the bug is this: when I open another graph (or the same again), the connectors are all visible, even while the menu option is off.

I have to turn it on and off again to make the connectors invisable.

If you have turned the option off in the menu, and open a graph, the connectors are visible as posted before. But today I found out that if you add new connectors, the dotted guide line is not visible during connecting! After connecting, the connector becomes visible.
It should be the other way around, a visible dotted guide line during connecting, after that no visible line :thinking:

Honestly I think that “hide connectors” should just be removed wholesale. Let connectors be hidden 1x1 if there is a desire for such. There shouldn’t be desire for this in general - without the connector no one can tell what you’re processing. It’s like looking at a construction set with no detail tags or drawing labels; you’re not going to have much if any results there.

I have worked with it for a while and actually I was surprised how quickly it gets used. The advantage of this is that it gives a clean graph, and only when you work on a node, a preview is shown of all the incoming and outgoing connectors.

Hiding only one with the right mouse button menu is not a great option. In that case you are right, it is not visible what you are processing. But with all connectors off, it is more obvious that the nodes must have been connected.

If it is not gonna be fixed, it is indeed better to remove it. As a workaround, or maybe a great solution, is to work with Groups, that can be minimalized and also give a clean view on the graph.

This:

Instead of this:

without the connector no one can tell what you’re processing. It’s like looking at a construction set with no detail tags or drawing labels;

Google Maps but you can’t see your destination or current location
