BHoM Implimenting Toolkits

Hello all,

Not sure if this is the place I am supposed to go for all of this but here I am. I am a graduate architectural engineering student who is attempting to learn how to utilize Dynamo and the BHoM open source code package to automate design processes. I am at an impass at the moment as I am not sure how to impliement the BHoM Toolkits for Excel and ETABS. There is a lot of content on Github that outlines how to do this but the verbiage is far above my level of understanding.

I was hoping someone here might be able to break things down in layman’s terms or at least point me in the dirrection of more “dumbed down” guides for a novice like me.

Thanks!

Generally on forums the best way to get help is to have a crack at it and specifically show where you got stuck. There’s example scripts on the repo for Bhom so maybe try those if you don’t know where to even begin.

I dont really know much about using Bhom either, but if I was going to learn it’s where I’d begin.

Worth noting most of the repo is 3+ years old so I’d say support will be very limited. If you’re just looking for LCA based analysis maybe try something like oneclickLCA which offers free access plans for students.

If you’re looking for data connectors, look into Speckle. Way easier to use I’d say and has an active community and network whilst Bhom looks to have lost traction.
