Aligning Adaptive family with Centre line at 90 degrees

Hi,

So I have a centreline which I have created points at 10m spacing and managed to place the components by points, but I’m really struggling to align them with the centreline at 90 degrees.
I have been trying all day and finally think I need some help from the experts,

so this was my last attempt

any guidance on were I am going wrong or what I need to do would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

What do you mean by this? Do you mean the adaptive component you want to align normal to the curve? Perhaps you could show what it should look like with 2 or more placed manually. BTW you should always know/verify it could be done manually before you create a dynamo script to perform that function in revit. thanks

@Monkeyman you need to predefin rotation parameter to the family in XY plane

Hi @Monkeyman ,

What I always do when I need to place objects along a curve, which need to be rotated relative to that curve is by using Local Coordinatesystems. I would do it through an approach like this:

2023-10-25 Coordinatesystem creation by perp. offset from curve to create (generic) Adaptive Components.dyn (31.8 KB)
