Waterproofing - Structural Elements

Hi ,

Has anyone used Dynamo to create waterproofing systems ? We would like to be able to place surfaces ( or thin solids ) on the faces of selected elements ( roofs, beams, columns, foundations ) These surfaces represent waterproofing membranes which then need to be quantified for total area.

I quickly searched the forums, but couldn’t find a similar query.

Have you tried extracting the solids of the elements, extracting the surfaces from the solids and using that number as a takeoff?
