OK, I see what this is about. I’m just following a video tutorial. Very interesting and I really think I will use it for the next project, also because, as you say, I have seen that it is much faster. At this stage though, I have to continue down this route. Could you anyway tell me the changes I need to make to the script to try and make it work? Thanks always for your availability
yeah sure, here i have moved your dwg closer to origin, and run, but keep in mind it take a while, so take a cup of coffee i few will fail, guess these building dont have closed curves-loops
I have tried but it does not seem to work. I’ll see what the problem is.
Another question concerns the fact that I would like to add point objects on a topography but I also have to make sure that these are actually on the topography. Which script should I use? Currently I have tried this way, trying to use the geometry.intersect node and then I would have to link the 2 group of nodes to this to add the point objects to the centre of the polygons
not sure i have only tried on that dwg you shared
Here it is! I apologise in advance if the dwg is far from the point of origin, but it is a dxf extrapolated from Qgis.
Trees_1_B_1.dwg (109.8 KB)
yeah but isnt that a new topic ?? seems now its about place trees on some topography, probably im wrong
He’s right! Since it is the same file in my case, I had not thought about it being a new theme. I’ll see to it immediately
If you’re in Qgis, I’m guessing it has an easy way to project the points onto the topography surface… why not use that before exporting?
I finally came back to this and am testing FORMA. I didn’t know it before today, it’s great for what I have to do, thank you very much for the suggestion. However, I still haven’t achieved the desired result
Can you share a city in which you’re working so I can see about building a Forma focused workflow? Seems that will be 100’s of times easier.
In the meantime use a Solid.ByUnion node between the Element.Geometry and the FamilyInstance.ByGeometry node.
Regarding the city I am working on, I enclose a photo of what I have managed to do with FORMA
The script now WORKS! Thank you very much. However, I know this is a strange request, but I would like to have these objects as part of a group. That is, the buildings family must contain all these masses with different shapes within it and individually selectable.
How would you do this in base Revit?
Good morning. I have searched over and over again for a tutorial to find out whether it was possible and thus how to do this, but I have not yet succeeded. I would be very grateful if you could tell me something about this
