I am cleaning up a mess in my Families section of my project browser. I need to rename many families and am wondering how Dynamo can help me do this. Most of these families are not yet placed in the project, but shall remain available for future use (I have purged as much as I am allowed). How do I access parameters, in this case the name, of families not placed in the project? I am not educated on Python nor the API so my preference is to use OOTB nodes and custom packages.
Here is a way, you will need DataShapes package and Clockwork
RENAME FAMILY NAMES IN DOCUMENT.dyn (44.2 KB)

Thanks! I’m not in the office today so I’ll try these out when I return on Monday.
Wonderful, thank you! I believe the specific key that I was looking for is the option “Family” within the Element Types nodes, this seems to unlock the properties of families loaded into the project but not yet placed in the model.
