Help Needed: Extracting Interior Faces of a Church Model for Acoustic Study

Hello everyone,

I need some assistance. I require a model of the interior of a church for an acoustic study. The acoustic analysis software I am using (EASE 5.0) only works with simple faces, not with blocks. Therefore, I need a solution to extract the visible interior surfaces of the church, meaning the interior faces of all elements (walls, ceilings, families, sweeps, and curtain systems of the domes).

I have been trying to make some progress using ChatGPT, but I haven’t achieved good results so far. Could someone please help me and guide me on how to create the block diagram?

Thank you in advance!

Assuming you have good room bounding, Element.Faces from the room(s) will get much of what you want.

You can also select all relevant elements and extract their faces and export those. If you need to check if the face is ‘inside’ the mass you can check to see if the normal of the surface is facing a room.

In the end you are going to have to adjust the model due to the nature of the geometry you need and the geometry which has been modeled differ in their intended use.
