Finding group location in antoher group

is there a possibilty to find a groups location inside an other group.
this is what i got now.

Hey,

I’m not sure the nested location point makes sense, other than relative to the host objects? It is placed with the primary group, so kind of inherits its location from there? Perhaps you could do a temporary transaction, ungroup the original, get the nested’s location now, and do some work on that?

Hope that helps

Thank you for your assistance.

It seems that I’m able to obtain the location of the groups within the groups, but the global parameters associated with them disappear when I unlock the group. This does pose a challenge, especially because preserving these parameters is crucial. Setting up an overlapping group that retains the global parameters seems to be the only way I know to maintain them.

Given this, I’m wondering if there are any alternative methods or approaches within Revit and Dynamo that could achieve the same outcome without relying on overlapping groups. I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions you might have in this regard.

Hello Giel,

I would like to investigate the situation and if there is a gap in term of nodes, I can highlight the issue to the team for a solution. Is it possible for you to share a sample revit file with global parameters and nested groups? You can zip the file to be able to share here.

Thanks for helping me out I can send you a Wetransfer link if thats okay? because i can’t upload ZIP files…

Yeah sure.

I’ve sent it to you normally.
