Seems like your BIM Manager doesn’t have much experience with Revit then. I can tell you now you would have spent less time rebuilding / fixing all your groups than the time you have spent in this one thread learning how to workaround model management. Not trying to poke a wounded bull here but Dynamo is simply an extension to Revit and can only automate what Revit does - it isn’t gonna clean things up for your team. In this case it’s just avoiding much deeper workflow issues. Dynamo is a great tool to expediate repetitive tasks in Revit, but training staff on how to avoid a “really messy model” and how to use groups effectively in the first place will produce far greater outcomes than workarounds will.
Good luck and good on you for wanting to dive into Dynamo though, it is a fantastic tool.
Hi @bvs1982, Im trying to recreate your script ( just because im learning, though i will most likely download your script in the end thankyou ! )
I was previously using List.Contains node and am trying the String.contains node. However in the list they all come back as false…
Do you know if im missing something here?
That gives me some confidence. thanks @ewilliamsUQGPB Im a seasoned revit documenter but new to dynamo. trying to figure out what its good for. The concept of working/ not working around model management is definitely something i’ll think more of moving forward
Lacing should be on Cross Product.
I really dislike people who don’t model telling modellers how they should model.
