Extending Curve start and end points

Hi everyone,

I am trying to extend the start and end points of a wall curve.
I am eventually wanting to divide the total length into a series of points.

The problem i am encountering is that by extending the curve in both directions, I am now creating 2 curves.
Is there any way to only produce a single curve?
