Dynamo Forum Search on Google: What's Going On?

I feel like Google searches for the Dynamo Forum have gone downhill over the past couple of years—so much so that I’m starting to wonder if Google thinks ‘Dynamo’ is just a new energy drink. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find anything relevant. This is a significant obstacle for people seeking help on the Dynamo Forum, denied by Google search itself.

On the flip side, the forum’s internal search, now turbocharged with AI suggestions, has really stepped up its game.

Google is certainly getting worse. I use search operators (site:, before:<yyyy-mm-dd>, after: etc.) to get better results

Edge is good, but I’ve noticed people occasionally stumbling over NSFW-ish content on the home page during online meetings. pretends no one saw it

The thing that really bugs me is the reverse image search…

2014 - Google reverse image search is awesome.
2024 - Google reverse image search is beyond useless.

You can put Chrome on your PC without admin rights… Which is useful. #JustSayin

The site: tag works wonders, but generally speaking I find the ‘in site’ search results have always put performed the results from a. indexed crawler (what any search engine is).

Between AI trash proliferating on the web (and producing trashier AI stuff) and the likely shift in strategy for Alphabet due to antitrust issues I expect ‘googling’ to be replaced with another term (hopefully not lead by a single corporate entity).

Ducking?

The Levenshtein distance is too close to another word which isn’t forum appropriate… but maybe.
