Is it possible to import a .dwg file containing the 2d curtain wall lines, and then use those lines to create a curtain wall grid lines? These imported 2d lines are not always vertical and horizontal, but can be diagonal as well.
I tried to search a bit around forum, but couldn’t find an answer to this question.
Any help would be appreciated.
Angled curtain girds are doable in Revit, but not by sketching a line. If you can’t do it with the UI, then likely you can’t do it with Dynamo either (or you shouldn’t). More likely an adaptive component is a better fit here.
Hi @jacob.small, thank you once again for the reply.
Maybe I said it in a wrong way: by angled I meant rotated in the curtain wall plane.
I said this because I found out that there are some Dynamo components which can generate the curtain wall grid, but only of orthogonal mullions. Like “Create Custom Grids” from “ReAnimation” package.
In my case I would have diagonal mullions as well:
And I couldn’t find Dynamo component which is capable of doing this.
Thank you @jacob.small,
With this: “It does, but not if you draw the horizontal and vertical as well.”
you meant, that the mullions can only go in two directions, not three:
Thank you Jacob, once again for the help!
Would the usage of adaptive components would prevent me from extracting parameters as the length of the mullions? Or the areas oft the glass in between?
