Auto dimension pipes/sprinkler

Hi, I want to dimension ‘center to center pipes’ and ‘center to center walls and pipes’. The walls are in a linked model that i got from the architect" . I have searched the forum but much of this is outdated. However, I have found one that should work, though this is for ducts. this scrit was made by @Alban_de_Chasteigner from this topic Auto dimension MEP - Revit - Dynamo.

My goal is to dimension those pipes/sprinkler that are placed on different angles. i already got some help by @sovitek

@sovitek could you please share you script from the other post? i would appreciate it

here is an example and be sure you have the right ironpython installed as well should be 2.7 version 2.5 if 23-24 and 3.2.1 if 25

hi @sovitek, i have tried the script. instead pf pipe, i have changed it to “sprinklers” but can’t make it work. im using rvt 2024 here and im in a sheets view.

Here is an example for linked walls and sprinklers

is it possible if you post the script so i can run it and see?

sorry i have just close it down without save, but it should be possible follow the image and good for practice

hmm, are you doing this on a sheets view?

not sure i understand, didnt know we could dimension in sheet [guess you mean on viewport on a titleblock], only if component is placed there maybe ex titleblock itself, 2d object etc…so im not familar with that workflow

yes, on a viewport

dont think its possible even manuel you will need activate the viewport…viewport it just a graphic thing from the view and dont have any dim reference

yes you right, i need to activate the viewport and then measuring it. but is it possible on work view?

yeah thats what i try show you   try play around with it and you probably need some modify so it fit your situation, it was just an example from my side   and yeah reference can sometimes be a jungle

ok i understand, why are those error showing up when i run it?
