Does anyone know please how to get the area of the inner faces of those openings highlighted (a door and a window opening)? would appreciate any help.Thank you.

Hello @Mav ..something here maybe you mean ?

@sovitek I think Mav means to get the 7 surfaces as indicated in red. Like the top, sides and bottom sill of the window, as surfaces.

Hi, not quite as good as that  , I overlooked the false positives (center of gravity of the inner and outer cladding falling within a boundary box). I eliminated the false positives (no probable comparison of surface sizes, less tedious than checking the components of the [wall.orientation] vector and reverse).

awesome as always, but guess it depends what kind of opening, is windows or doors or real opening, or created by edit profile…have a great weekend down there

Indeed, for example, with a frame that needs to be reinforced, that’s a different story…

Have a good weekend too.

Circles are too hard, boom, two arcs!

Okay, it’s time to get marking; the papers are piling up for me.

Do these work with curved walls? I have a mostly working solution that meets all conditions except for that…

Hi, this seems to work for a curved wall.

Hello @sovitek could you share the python node in this graph if possible.?

Hi @Mav should already be shared in post #6

@sovitek thank you.. the dynamo file you shared was to get only the inner face of opening, the one i need now is the one to get area of the opening itself (highlighted in blue in picture below)…..or you can just tell me what does this python node do and i will ask chatgpt to do it , sorry im beginner in dynamo
