I may be going to the hackathon.
I suggest that we dress up like our profile picture
I’ve changed slightly since my profile picture was taken…
Wooohoooo!! Will be awesome to have you join the party
Hola amigos buenas. I was a little confused if it was part of the Devcon, i read well, i ask to my boss budget to assit to Devcon any way!!
2 hrs in train is a good oportunity to know some of the forum’s participants! besides the “Wrong route” seems interesting enough!!

I’ve never been in a hackthon not sure about the mechanics, we have to present an existing scripts?
or are there challenges assigned by categories or levels?
Is it possible to attend only as an observer or do we have to participate in order to asist?
We will recive the details after the register?
Can i participate alone or should be a full team, my collegues don’t seems interested ?
Hola @gilberto.arechigaiba Two hour train doesn’t sound bad at all! Answer to your questions below:
-
Teams can work on ideas that have already been done or can use a new idea/project. You can come prepared with your idea or brainstorm with your team during the hackathon. But teams must clearly define what was previously developed and what is newly created as judging will only be done on the part that was developed during the hackathon.
-
We encourage people to participate. Its more fun that way and teams are made up of members of all levels. There are many roles to play, and teams need people to help with presentations as well. But, if you prefer not to participate, you can also attend as observers.
-
If you don’t have a team, we can help with team assignments. We will assign teams and share details with attendees ahead of the hackathon, so teams have time to prepare on their idea if they would like to plan ahead.
If you want to get an idea of what kind of projects people have worked on in the past Dynamo Hackathons, here are the top two hacks from the recent hackathon at AU2024:
And for some Hackathons looking even further back, take a read of the following awesome hack teams and what they got up to:
So there’s no set task or theme?
There will be more information coming out soon! Expect guidelines to come out to help shape the boundaries, but ultimately if you have a wonderful idea that uses Dynamo in any way, it’s good to go!
Dynamo day fantastic I have registered when will we hear if you can come? ( I still need to convince my boss.)
Email to come out this week! We’re actively working on it right now Logistics still settling, some some things will be TBD but there should be enough to make a decision
Will everyone who signs up get a spot?
I ask because I’d have to book a flight/ hotel in advance.
Everyone already signed up has a spot, yes @Alien
We are not yet at capacity and some some decent runway… so tell all your dynamo friends to come hang too!

I just received an email with this information.
^^ Revit 2026?
Revit 2026 will only be released a few weeks before the hackathon and there is no way my company IT will install it by then even if I beg them. Could this be relaxed to Revit 2025 maybe?
@Alien oops - our bad on that. Yes, Revit 2025 We’ll amend it!
Updated communication on the Software Requirements has been sent out as below:
• Dynamo as a Service in Forma Beta
• Revit 2025 with Dynamo 3.0.3 or higher
• Civil 3D 2025.1 with Dynamo 3.2.0 or higher
• Alias 2025 with Dynamo 3.0.4 or higher
• Advance Steel with Dynamo 3.0.3 or higher
• Robot Structural Analysis with Dynamo 3.0.3 or higher
• Dynamo Sandbox 3.0.3 with access to Geometry or higher
Thanks again @Alien for calling it out. Looking forward to meeting you in person
I have signed up already. Looking forward to this day.
Does the laptop I bring with needs to be ‘open’? As is, that I need to have Local Admin rights for this day?
All depends on what you want to do in your team! If just working in Dynamo and using DaaS in Forma, then you don’t need any special permissions providing you have the package installed already.
If you want to work with APS then you may need broader controls.
Stoked to be part of the Dynamo Hackathon this year! Can’t wait to get started.
Less than one week away now for the Hackathon! If you want to sign-up last minute, we have a few spots left
