Why is not the distance zero between the cylinders?

why is not the distance zero between the cylinders?

distance=2*(radius+thicknees)

dynamo primer

the result is diffrent.

Dynamo 1.30+Revit2016

why?

Hi @bapibaima,

Good question! It is because the Surface.Thicken node thickens on both sides (this node may have been updated since the Primer example) therefore there will be a distance of 1 at their closest. If you hover over the node you will see in fine print what it is doing (get familiar with reading this as it is generally quite descriptive)…

In your case you will need to use the other Surface.Thicken node…

and it will look like this…

Therefore the complete graph (tidier than that of the Primer Version) will look like this…

With kissing faces you could say.

Hope this helps you with your query! :slight_smile:

Cheers,
Dan

You are right there, the node was fixed somewhere between 1.0 and 1.1.1:
