I… cant understand why. It might be worth taking a break. prbly some trbls in legend view…
yeah hahaha…as you see in my example it isnt total width, for that you need edit your family and lock that extrusion to the refplane in edit
family and then it works for total width
as well, more a revit thing ;)…soo as here
Yep, i was right. Element.Faces doesnt work correctly on legend view, but work good in 3D view (or something else)
works great on my side…in legend view, maybe you have some issue with the other familes, try one by one in a legend view, so you can find out why
No, it still doesnt work. I think I’ll stay on the first option when i used constructing lines along the edges of the element, bcz i cant understand. Or will try revit api and C# in future
hard to say what you actuelly try to do with set location, not sure then you have show your whole graph…maybe an transaction node before feed in element faces…hard to say, you will need tell us or show what your workflow, but i can tell you its possible in Dynamo, done it many times …
I just copy the element in the legend view and change their Id and “View” to the elements I need, and then just move them by position. I will try same node in GeniusLoci, but dont shure that it helps
arh guess i understand maybe
but its another thing then dimension i guess…is something here you mean ? a fast one hahaha
and if you plan dimension this in same run you will for sure need a transaction end, before crap the new placed legend component for dimension
Yep, it is. It’s a pity I didn’t find out about this node earlier, so I wouldn’t have to write my own in python.
we can use copy by vector as well and just set the family type after
it’s a good idea, but there’s a problem: the windows are centered, so if the other type has a different height, they won’t be aligned. I need to align them at the bottom.
yep some math…
with min max point

But guess you should create a new for that, a bit off context “Setting the dimensions” ![]()
I’ve completed this quest but still haven’t come to a solution using “Reference”. I don’t know why this method doesn’t work for me, so i still use small lines at the corners of the bbox
But my version definitely works great with any elements and has full customization
Maybe, in the far, far future i will solve the problem with “Reference” and set up an option for corner windows that have 2 sides
create a legend.dyn (201.9 KB)
