Interesting… I guess you want to ‘unwrap’ the solid to get a net…
Then you can run your lines across it… then fold them back up again?

I would start with surfaces for each face instead of “break” lines. That might be easier for managing the geometry. Then you could rotate and translate each surface pretty easily.
