We could give you some clues indeed, there are tons of related information already online. So let’s say we don’t know how Roombook works: how would you describe the workflow you need with existing Dynamo functions?
[…]
Here are some of the related links that could help to get started on such a project:
This is for walls:

> [@Filter internal wall surfaces](https://forum.dynamobim.com/t/filter-internal-wall-surfaces/3826/2):
>
> If you can consider introducing a Room the you could use the below workflow… File: [WallInnerFace.dyn](http://dynamobim.org/wp-content/uploads/forum-assets/testingwaters/04/23/WallInnerFace.dyn) [20160423-3]

This is for ceilings:

> [@Collect ceilings in Rooms and write Room Data (Room Name, Room ID) to ceilings](https://forum.dynamobim.com/t/collect-ceilings-in-rooms-and-write-room-data-room-name-room-id-to-ceilings/3392):

> I have a problem and i don’t not know if it can be solve in Dynamo Revit. I want to collect ceilings in Rooms and write Room Data back to these ceilings. I have tried using Room.Boundaries Node from Clockwork pakage, but the results didn’t include Ceilings. Everyone here can help me? Thanks very much!

This could be used for the beams:

> [@Find nearest room for an element](https://forum.dynamobim.com/t/find-nearest-room-for-an-element/5333/10):
>
> @Rune_Haugland You are correct in your assumption, Tool.SurroundingElements uses the “[BoundingBoxIntersectsFilter](http://revitapisearch.com/html/1fbe1cff-ed94-4815-564b-05fd9e8f61fe.htm)” witch filters out objects that are contained or intersects with the BB. The problem with bounding boxes is that they must be rotated along the global x and y axis. The image below shows two identical beams and columns, but the filter works differently on them because of the rotation: Have you tried the Geometry.DistanceTo node? Here is an example:

…along with _Element.Geometry_ and other nodes that you will find here:

You could also need to read this part:
[http://dynamoprimer.com/en/05\_Geometry-for-Computational-Design/5-8\_importing.html](http://dynamoprimer.com/en/05_Geometry-for-Computational-Design/5-8_importing.html)

Lastly, you could need a couple of nodes such as _Area_, _Sum_ and optionally _Schedule.GetData_ from the [BimorphNodes](https://bimorph.co.uk/bimorph-nodes/get-schedule-data/) package.

If you already know how Dynamo works basically, the best would probably be to find a similar workflow to get started. If not, I would suggest to read the Primer first 🙂

Another one that could help:

> [@Wall Types Area Sum](https://forum.dynamobim.com/t/wall-types-area-sum/5992):
>
> Hi all, New to Dynamo… Probably a very simple problem to address. I’d just like to total the area of specific wall types which will be exported to excel and used for building cost estimating. Problem is, the Area will not list when using GetParameterValueByName. Any help here? I will be repeating the process for each wall type, floor type, ceiling type, window type, door type ect… Thanks!
