Replace existing parameter with Cobie Paramater

I have to replace all our existing family parameters with Cobie parameters, so what I want to do is find an existing parameter, and replace it with the new parameter, but leave any constraints it had intact, but pointing to the new parameter.

So before I start, I was wondering if it is possible, or am I wasting my time?
