Nearby connector with owner of particular category

Hi all,
Is there any way to find nearby connector with owner of particular category.Say I have have hot and cold plumbing fixtures connected to respective pipes as shown below.I need to find the nearest hot water plumbing fixture when I select a cold water plumbing fixture. eg when I select A my output need to be B or when I select C my output need to be D.

you can set a tolerance there

Thanks. I believe we need to give tolerance in Feet. This method uses bounding box.Is there any other way without relying on bounding box like finding the nearby connectors?
