Introducing DynaFetch – Your Data Retriever

For the past month, I’ve been “Vide Coding” with my coding bestie Claude on our very first custom Dynamo package. DynaFetch brings modern, reliable REST API integration to Dynamo 3.0, letting you connect to external data sources with community-driven, open-source functionality.

This project started because I’ve long relied on the excellent custom package DynaWeb by Radu Gidei. Unfortunately, it isn’t compatible with Dynamo 3.0+, and staying on older versions is becoming less and less practical.

Well, now there’s a way forward with DynaFetch!

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Try it out by searching “DynaFetch” in the Dynamo Package Manager, or grab it from the GitHub repo.

The current version is 1.0.2. Thanks to troubleshooting and code updates from Dynamo superstar John Pierson, it now works in both Dynamo Sandbox and Dynamo for Revit (v3.0+).

Not sure how to use a REST API interface in Dynamo? No worries—we’ve included plenty of examples to get you started:
• 7 Original DynaFetch Samples (like the one in the image below)
• 7 Updated DynaWeb Samples (modernized for DynaFetch)
• 8 Node Graphs showing a visual breakdown of the 230+ nodes in the package

:blue_book: And if you want extra guidance, DynaFetch comes with full documentation, including:

Whether you’re new to REST APIs in Dynamo or migrating from DynaWeb, the docs are there to keep you moving forward.

So, if you’re a fan of DynaWeb (like me) or just looking for a way to work with REST APIs in Dynamo, give DynaFetch a try today!

thanks @CStorms this looks really interesting, I’ll give it a try- I’m thinking it could work well with the Sharepoint rest api

(hate Sharepoint, but end up using it a fair bit)

Hey Andrew, let me know how it goes, and if you have troubles or feed back… And I think everyone hates SharePoint, but good for testing :joy:
