Hello guys so i just created a dynamo script that creates a visual filter in the active view template by simply manually selecting a model element and works great using dynamo player, but when i did the same thing except for a linked model , i get an error in dynamo player about the select linked element input!? is there any reason?

Dynamo Player trips up on linked element selection for two reasons:

1. Document Context: Standard “Select Model Element” nodes only look at the active host document. To pick inside a link, your script needs a node or Python snippet explicitly using `Selection.PickObject(ObjectType.LinkedElement)` to grab the link instance and its source document.
2. View Filter API Limit: A host View Filter cannot override individual element IDs inside a linked document directly. For a link, the filter must target category rules, or you have to set the link display in the View Template to “Custom” and manage overrides there.
