# Family rotation Y axis

Hi,  
I’m trying to make a dynamo code to place and make a rotation of family from an excel export from Autocad. I done first part of the code but i can’t make a rotation around Y axis of my family, Revit said me that :  
“This element cannot be rotated in this position.”

What family parameter i have to change ?  
My goal is to import IFC created with revit into VERTEX BD to build vertex par from IFC

Hi @romainJTREZ great 😉 seems you input lines in axis, it expect a vector, try line direction before feed in, btw this rotate node is it that one from archilab ? and try first with one, and when that works you could scale it up

It’s seems to work, Revit send an error message that the family can’t be rotate in this axis, and when i try manually to rorate it in a section this isn’t working. S i think i have to change something in my family, but don’t know what..

yeah probably not all families can rotate in all axis depends how it hosted
