Esc Key Shortcut for Background 3D Preview Navigation Buggy in Stable 0.9 (0.9.0.3067)

There seems to be a significant delay between holding down the Escape key and Dynamo recognizing that the user is in 3D preview navigation mode.

This causes the graph to be inadvertently navigated.

Sometimes the delay is there and sometimes it isn’t.

Also no geometry is previewing in the background. Am I going crazy here? Can anyone replicate?
