Embeded Family Element Coordinates

Hi all,

I have been working with dynamo for a few months now, and I have found this forum very very helpful.

So I want to create a family with some “sub families” embedded into it (a precast pile cap + piles), do any of you know if its possible to extract the coordinates of subelements(piles)

I have been able to extract the coordinates of the separate piles but if they are modelled only as a separate family(only the pile).

If your piles are defined as shared families, they will be treated as separate entities at the document level. That means you’ll be able to get their location, tab-select them, tag them, add parameter values to them, etc but they will still be grouped under their respective pilecap instance.
