Direct manipulation

Hi to all. I have a weird situation regarding the direct manipulation icon usage. I use the 2.0.1 version and when I try to adjust the geometric shape with Direct manipulation and push the run button on manual and select a node that direct manipulation icon does not appear, but when I change to automatic to run and then I select the node than that icon is appear. Could anyone clarify that issue for me, and what I have to check so that for the future this issue does not persist?

Unfortunately, this is how direct manipulation has always functioned. Because it’s tied in to actual graph objects, you need to be in automatic mode to be able to “execute” the changes back into the objects.

Have you tried the DynaShapes package? The analysis geometry it generates is stored in memory and is a lot easier and quicker to manipulate. Then once you’re happy with its position, you can stop the analysis and “bake” it into regular graph objects that can drive things further down the graph.
