Hi there
I have a custom family element - a sloping column that penetrates a solid mass.
What I effectively want to achieve is to be able to cut all columns at the exit point of the top of the mass only (not the bottom). As you can see this seems difficult because the mass is organic / irregular.
Please may I have some insight into this.
@1simongray Instead of creating columns that are taller than required and then trying to subtract, why don’t you just create columns of the correct height/length?
You can do that by projecting a point onto the organic mass from the base point of the column and specify the direction. The projected point would be the end point.
Hi Vikram,
Thanks for your reply. I ended up just using a mass to cut the columns at the bottom of the top floor plate.
Not idea as I wanted a couple of the columns to reach the underside of the un-uniform ceiling.
I comprehend what you are saying but, what would the code block look like for this?
Thanks,
