I have been get all sorts of errors on trying add parameters on families form a project file. Being struggling with it for weeks now, can you help please.

I’m guessing you still have to be in the family document (family editor) to add parameters.
I think that you are not using the correct list level for your groups since they are nested, but your other lists aren’t. Try to Flatten it and see if you can get that to work.
