This Dynamo script automates complex geometric calculations into a simple one-click process, enhancing data accuracy and achieving significant time savings for quantity takeoff (QTO) preparation.

Methodology: From Geometry to Scheduled Data

  • Parameter Requirement: The workflow is contingent on the prior definition of two Shared Parameters (SLAB_LENGTH and SLAB_WIDTH), configured with a Common Length data type.
  • Geometry Extraction: The script isolates valid Floor elements and extracts their Bounding Box coordinates (Max and Min X/Y) to accurately define the slab’s horizontal footprint
